Summary
Damage Control Resource Site for Maintaining the Oracle E-Business Suite ("Damage Control") is owned and operated by RingMaster Software Corporation ("RingMaster") as a resource center that facilitates a community for sharing, commenting and rating resources on topics regarding the maintenance of the Oracle E-Business Suite.
Damage Control and RingMaster know that you care about how your personal information is collected and used, and we appreciate your trust in our commitment to do so carefully and thoughtfully. This document describes what personally identifiable information we collect, how we collect and use it, and the procedures we have in place to protect that information; this constitutes the Privacy Policy for Damage Control and RingMaster.
This policy applies Damage Control (damagectrl.info, damagectrl.us.com, and damagecontrol.us.com) websites. It may not apply to websites of any other RingMaster affiliate, branch, section, chapter, group, or to websites operated by organizations or groups who associate themselves with RingMaster. It does not apply to any other Internet websites, including those that have hypertext links to or from the above mentioned websites.
This policy does not apply to the practices of third parties that RingMaster does not own or control, or to individuals that RingMaster does not employ or manage.
RingMaster may revise this Policy at any time, and will post the Policy on the website, including the date, above, of the most recent update. By using the damagectrl.info website, you are accepting the practices described in this Policy.
What Personal Information is Collected, and How is it Used?
We only collect personal information that is relevant to the purpose of the Site, which is to enable users to share information and resources regarding the maintenance of the Oracle E-Business Suite. This information allows us to provide you with a customized and efficient experience. We do not process this information in a way that is incompatible with this objective.
1. Information that you voluntarily provide:
As part of the registration process, you must complete a registration form. This form will require you to enter a valid email address, request a userid and password. We provide you with the option to provide additional information such as your full name, company, job role, city, and state. You are not required to provide all of this information.
Please keep in mind that if you directly disclose personally identifiable information or personally sensitive data through Damage Control's public message board, this information may be collected and used by others.
2. Information that you involuntarily provide:
As you interact with Damage Control, our server logs information about your visit. This information includes things like the website address you came from, the browser you are using, your numeric internet address, the date and time of your visit, and what pages you are viewing; collection of these types of information is a common practice by websites.
We use this information to learn about our visitors as a group, not about you as an individual. This information helps us identify overall usage patterns and trends on Damage Control, and can specifically help us, among other things:
- Identify how much traffic various areas of the site receive.
- Determine when we should schedule site maintenance.
- Identify which other websites sent visitors to the site.
- Determine demographic profiles of our visitors.
- Optimize Damage Control for common browsers used at the site.
- Deliver customized content to customers whose behavior indicates that they are interested in a particular subject area.
- Track results of promotional campaigns.
- Provide reports to third parties who maintain a presence on Damage Control.
It is possible to browse websites, including Damage Control, anonymously; you have the option of doing so, but doing so may also make it more difficult for Damage Control to best meet your needs.
3. Information you provide through online forums and in email:
In addition to collecting the information noted above, Damage Control provides visitors the opportunity to comment and rate on content and submit information to be considered as appropriate resource content for the Site. Comments you make regarding content are visible to other participants.
When you send us an email and request a response, we use the email address and other information you provide to respond to your inquiry. We may also log the nature and content of email request we receive which helps us to analyze visitor interests overall and identify areas for improvement on the Site.
E-mail Communications
We may send out e-mails with Damage Control and/or RingMaster news, products, offers, surveys or promotions. If you do not want to receive e-mail from us, please visit the Email Preferences section of your User Profile and/or follow the instructions contained in the unwanted e-mail message. Please note that in all cases you will continue to receive all system e-mails (e.g. those regarding forgotten user passwords) and Legal notices (e.g. updates to our policies) from us.
Electronic Communications Protocols and Cookies:
In addition to the information specified above, Damage Control may collect information about your use of the websites through electronic communications protocols and cookies. As is true when you visit most websites, Damage Control may automatically receive personal information from you as part of the communication connection itself, which often consists of network routing information (where you came from), equipment information (browser type), and date and time. Damage Control also uses cookies, embedded URLs and embedded pixels to capture additional information.
Cookies:
Damage Control's server will query your computer to see if there are "cookies" previously set by the Damage Control’s website. A cookie is a small piece of information sent by a Web server to store on a Web browser so it can later be read back from that browser. Cookies on the websites may collect a unique identifier, user preferences and profile information and membership information. Damage Control also uses cookies to collect general usage and volume statistical information (which does not include personally identifiable information). Some cookies may remain on the user’s computer after they leave the website, and the majority are set to expire within 30 days. While we do not offer an opt-out for cookies, browsers provide you information and control over cookies. You can set your Web browser to alert you when a cookie is being used, and accept or reject the cookie. You can also set your browser to refuse all cookies or accept only cookies returned to the originating servers. Users can generally disable the cookie feature on their browser without affecting their ability to use the site, except in some cases where cookies are used as an essential security feature necessary for transaction completion.
Embedded URLs:
Damage Control also uses a tracking technique that employs embedded URLs to allow use of the site without cookies. Embedded URLs allow limited information to follow you as you navigate the site, but is not associated with personal information and is not used beyond the session.
Embedded Pixels:
On the website, Damage Control may use embedded pixel technologies on selected pages for the purposes of identifying unique user visits to the Damage Control website as opposed to aggregate hits. In addition, these technologies are used in emails to provide information on when the email was opened to track marketing campaign responsiveness.
Third Party Cookies:
Damage Control may engage a third party, to track and analyze usage and volume statistical information (which does not include personal information) from visitors to the website. The third party sets cookies on behalf of Damage Control. Damage Control also uses other third party cookies to track the performance of Damage Control advertisements on their websites. The information provided by these third parties does not include personal information, but may be re-associated with personal information once Damage Control receives it.
Use and Sharing of Personal Information
Damage Control and RingMaster use (and, where specified, shares) your personal information for the following purposes:
- To tailor marketing to your needs and respond to your requests. RingMaster may use information from your profile to provide you with notices of new product releases and service developments. RingMaster also may use your personal information to respond directly to your requests for information, including registration for newsletters or post comments or submit resources for inclusion to our site, or pass your contact information to the appropriate RingMaster partner to respond to your request. In addition, RingMaster may ask if you wish to have your contact information shared with other selected partners that offer complementary products or services. If you agree, RingMaster will provide your contact information to those partners. Please review the specific partner's privacy policy regarding any further interactions with them.
- To provide social sharing of information. Some services available on the website permit you to participate in interactive discussions or post comments or submit resources for inclusion to our site. Some of these services are moderated; all may be accessed for technical reasons. Damage Control does not control the content that users post to these forums. You should carefully consider whether you wish to submit personal information to these forums and should tailor any content you submit appropriately and in accordance with the relevant terms of use.
- To select content, improve quality and facilitate use of Damage Control. Damage Control may use your personal information, including information gathered as a result of site navigations and electronic protocols and cookies (including third party cookies), to help create and personalize site content, facilitate your use of the site (for example, to facilitate navigation and the login process, avoid duplicate data entry, and enhance security), improve the site quality, track marketing campaign responsiveness, and evaluate page response rates.
- To power joint sales and product promotions. RingMaster and its partners may engage in joint sales or product promotions. Such promotions will always reference the partners involved. Both RingMaster and the partner(s) will have access to that information, and either RingMaster or our partners may provide you the sales and product promotion information. We recommend you review the privacy policies of these partners to address your particular needs and concerns.
- To contact a referral/"tell a friend". If you elect to use our referral service to inform a friend about our Site, we will ask you for the friend’s name and email address. Damage Control will automatically send the friend a one-time email inviting them to visit the site. Damage Control uses this personal information for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email and tracking the success of our referral program. The friend may contact the site at admin AT damagectrl DOT info to be removed from the referral program.
- To communicate with you about a conference or event. We or our partners may communicate with you about a conference or event hosted or co-sponsored by RingMaster or one of our partners. This may include information about the event’s content, event logistics, payment, updates, and any additional meetings, special demonstrations or other customer facilitation that we may provide related to the event. RingMaster may contact you after the event about the event and related products and services.
- In some cases, we may choose to buy or sell assets. In these types of transactions, user information is typically one of the business assets that is transferred. If RingMaster, or substantially all of its assets, were acquired, Damage Control’s user information would be one of the assets that is transferred.
- We may release personal information when we believe in good faith that release is necessary to comply with a law; to enforce or apply our Terms of Use and other policies; or to protect the rights , property, or safety of RingMaster, our employees, our users, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organization for fraud protection.
- The Site allows for the RSS syndication of all of its public content within the Site.
Choice, Opt-Out, Control
As stated previously, you can always opt not to disclose information, but then you may be unable to use certain features on our website, such as submitting new resources and commenting and rating on content. You maintain control of the personally identifiable information Damage Control collects and maintains and displays about you.
- By visiting your User Profile, you can correct, amend, add or delete personal information on Damage Control. When you update information, however, we often maintain a copy of the unrevised information in our records.
- You may request deletion of your account by e-mailing us at admin AT damagectrl DOT info.
- Opting Out. If you do not wish to receive e-mail from us or our partners, please visit the Email Preference section of your User Profile and/or follow the instructions contained in the unwanted e-mail message. You can also unsubscribe to all email marketing by sending an email to our general unsubscribe automated link at unsubscribe AT damagectrl DOT info
- However, please note that you will continue to receive all system e-mails and legal notices.
Third Party Permission-Based Lists. On occasion, RingMaster may use a third party permission-based list to send communications about RingMaster products and services. These lists are maintained by third parties whose users have consented to receive emails from other companies, such as RingMaster. We do not have access to the names and contact information on these lists. We require the list owners to identify themselves as the mailers of the email and to provide appropriate opt-out mechanisms. If you wish to be removed from a third-party list, you should direct your opt-out request to the list owner, not to Damage Control. If you have trouble opting out, or if you wish to make us aware of any issues related to a third-party mailing, you may contact us directly at admin AT damagectrl DOT info. When third-party mailings are sent with a RingMaster reply address, we will provide a notice with information about how to opt-out of future RingMaster marketing communications.
Security
Your account information is protected by a password for your privacy and security. Protect against unauthorized access to your password and to your computer by logging off once you have finished using a shared computer.
Only employees and its authorized contractors that have a legitimate business purpose for accessing and handling personal information obtained by the Site are given authorization to do so. The unauthorized access or use of such information by a RingMaster employee, consultant or contractor is prohibited and constitutes grounds for disciplinary action.
Note about Children
RingMaster does not knowingly collect information about children under age 13 through its websites. If we learn that we have personal information on a child under age 13, we will delete the information on our systems.
Third Party Relationships
We share aggregate demographic information with our business partners, including advertisers. This data is not linked to any personally identifiable information.
We also provide lists containing personally identifiable information to trusted, reputable third parties which we believe have products or services that may be of interest to you. RingMaster does not sell your email address to any parties that systematically collect email addresses for marketing purposes unrelated to Damage Control business. We partner with third parties to provide specific services. For you to successfully participate in these services, we share the the third party only that information which is necessary for the purpose of providing said services.
Damage Control uses third-party advertising companies to serve ads when you visit our Web site. These companies may use information (not including your name, address, email address or telephone number) about your visits to this and other Web sites in order to provide advertisements to this site and other sites about goods and services that may be of interest to you.
Links to Other Sites
The stories/sites displayed and/or linked to by Damage Control are developed by people over whom Damage Control exercises no control. Other links are also on sites not controlled by Damage Control. These sites may send their own cookies to users, collect data, or solicit personal information. Damage Control encourages you to read the privacy policy of all web sites you visit. Damage Control may choose to exhibit its results in the form of a "URL redirecter." When Damage Controls uses a URL redirecter, if you click on a URL on a Damage Control page, information about the click is sent to Damage Control, and Damage Control in turn sends you to the site you clicked on. Damage Control uses this URL information to understand and improve the quality of Damage Control's technology.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
RingMaster may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time, at its sole discretion. Use of information we collect now is subject to the Privacy Policy in effect at the time such information is used. If we make changes to the Privacy Policy, we will notify you by posting an announcement on Damage Control so you are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances if any, it is disclosed.
Conditions of Use
If you decide to visit Damage Control, your visit and any possible dispute over privacy is subject to this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Use, including limitations on damages, arbitration of disputes, and application of Vermont state law.
